Incontinence solutions
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary loss of urine.1 The amount of urine that accidently leaks can range from a few drops to a more substantial amount. Whilst it can happen to anyone, urinary incontinence is more common in older people, especially women.2
It can seriously interfere with the physical, psychological, and social wellbeing of affected individuals of all ages.3 Many are too embarrassed to speak to their healthcare provider, which can lead to isolation and depression because they limit their activities and social interactions.
Living with incontinence at home can be reassuring for many patients since they are able to remain in a familiar environment, retain their independence and lifestyle, and remain close to those they love. Demonstrated methods of incontinence management can alleviate embarrassment and preserve patient dignity.
We offer a full range of products and solutions that aid in the management of urinary incontinence, day and night. For over 100 years, we’ve been developing innovative solutions that address the array of challenges associated with this common problem, so that people of all ages can continue to lead the fulfilling lives they deserve.
Stress incontinence
Maria has stress incontinence and wants to get back to her active lifestyle
Maria initially began to notice leakage after the birth of her third child, particularly while exercising. Over time, it became progressively worse, and she is now in constant fear of wetting herself whenever she goes out or wants to exercise. She has limited her active lifestyle and she has stopped visiting her friends and relatives, which has left her feeling disconnected. Maria is keen to find a solution that will restore her confidence and enable her to do the things she loves.
Functional incontinence
Winston has functional incontinence and has trouble getting to the toilet
Winston is frail and has osteoarthritis, which has impacted his mobility. In the past, he was able to get to the toilet before with some assistance, but as time went on, getting to the bathroom became a strenuous task for him, and he would become incredibly fatigued and be in pain. He now uses a catheter to empty his bladder.”
Urge incontinence
Fahmeeda has urge incontinence and it’s affecting her quality of sleep
Fahmeeda was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was in her 30s. She was experiencing recurrent urinary tract infections and sudden urges to go, particularly during the night. This had resulted in frequent falls as she was repeatedly getting out of bed to get to the bathroom in time. With the progression of her disease, Fahmeeda has become increasingly disabled, with problems with balance, co-ordination, and overall movement. She therefore requires assistance and care at home.

Retention Solutions
Urinary retention is a condition where someone is unable to completely empty their bladder; it can occur acutely or chronically.1 Acute urinary retention is a urologic emergency characterised by the sudden inability to pass urine.2
Chronic urinary retention is a gradual inability to completely empty the bladder and is characterised by a residual volume greater than one litre or the presence of a distended or palpable bladder.3
Urinary retention predominantly affects men, with the most common cause being urethral obstruction.2 Other causes of urinary retention include infections/inflammation, medication (such as anticholinergics), neurological conditions or it may occur postpartum or postoperatively.2
Treatment for urinary retention depends on the underlying cause. Options include urinary catheterisation to drain the bladder, surgery, or medications.3
We offer a full breadth of products that are designed to meet the unique needs of your patients and address their overall experience with catheterisation. We’ve focused on developing innovative solutions so that people of all ages can continue to lead the fulfilling lives they deserve.
Richard has urinary retention and has trouble getting to the toilet
Richard has benign prostatic hyperplasia, which means that he couldn’t completely empty his bladder. This led to recurrent urinary tract infections and kidney infections. This was incredibly frustrating for him and affected all areas of his life, including work and intimate relationships. Recently, Richard went to hospital for acute urinary retention following severe abdominal pain and the complete inability to urinate. Given his age, it was advised that he uses a long-term catheter to empty his bladder.
