Optiflo™ Irrigation Solutions

OptiFlo™ Irrigation Solutions are catheter maintenance solutions used to help reduce the build-up of encrustation by dissolving mineral deposits thereby extending the life of the catheter. OptiFlo™ solutions are pre-packed in a bellows design bottle, allowing a gentle, controlled flow and are available in 3 solutions:

• OptiFlo™ G (Suby G - 3.23% citric acid)
• Citric acid solution intended for routine catheter maintenance. Reduces encrustations by dissolving the crystals formed by urease-producing bacteria¹. Due to its acidic nature magnesium oxide is added to minimise bladder irritation.
• OptiFlo™ R (Solution R - 6% citric acid)
• Increased citric acid solution, effective at dissolving encrustation. It can be used prior to catheter removal if external encrustation is present on the catheter tip or balloon¹. Solution R also contains magnesium carbonate to reduce irritation.
• OptiFlo™ S (0.9% saline)
• Saline can be used for the removal of clots and debris following surgery. It is not effective against encrustation. It is also useful for patients who produce debrious urine¹.
